A semi-liquid metal processing and sensing de\ice comprising a crucible that is at least partially encircled by at least one induction coil. The one or more induction coils can be water cooled. The one or more induction coils can be designed to generate a \ariable power and or variable frequency magnetic field which can be modulated to control the cooling of a molten metal charge in the crucible from the liquidus temperature to a selected heat content, resistivity and/ or viscosity. The magnetic field can be designed to induce toroidal agitation of the metal charge in the crucible. The semi-liquid condition is sensed and can be actively controlled by the induction power supply via real time or non-real time analysis of electrical feedback signals that are obtained from the induction coil.
Cette invention se rapporte à un dispositif de détection et de traitement de métal semi-liquide comprenant un creuset qui est au moins en partie entouré par au moins une bobine d'induction. La ou les bobines d'induction peuvent être refroidies avec de l'eau. La ou les bobines d'induction peuvent être conçues pour générer une puissance variable et/ou un champ magnétique à fréquence variable pouvant être modulé(s) pour commander le refroidissement d'une charge métallique en fusion dans le creuset, de la température de liquidus à une contenance thermique, une résistivité et/ou une viscosité sélectionnées. Le champ magnétique peut être conçu pour provoquer une agitation toroïdale de la charge métallique dans le creuset. L'état semi-liquide est détecté et peut être activement régulé par l'alimentation par induction, par le biais d'une analyse, en temps réel ou non, de signaux de retour électriques qui sont obtenus à partir de la bobine d'induction.
