ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A composition, device and method useful as a sensitive enzymatic creatinine assay on body fluids comprising creatinine amidohydrolase, creatine amidi- nohydrolase, and sarcosine oxidase, a peroxidatively active agent, 4-aminophenazone and an appropriately substituted phenol. Substantial resistance to bilirubin interferance is imparted by addition of a ferrocyanide ion. Assays for creatine and sarcosine can also be accomplished by the omission of the appropriate enzyme. After contacting the body fluid sample with the assay composition either in solution form or incorporated into a test device, reading may be accomplished visually or by instrument.
