The invention refers to the use of a cytokine antagonist which modulates the expression and/or the function of a cytokine, particularly a Th2 helper cell cytokine, in a cell and causes the down-regulation of anti-apoptotic proteins in said cell through the cytokine modulation for sensitizing cells for apoptosis. In particular, the cells that can be treated with the cytokine antagonists are drug-resistant cancer cells which fail to undergo apoptosis.
L'invention concerne l'utilisation d'un antagoniste d'une cytokine modulant l'expression et/ou la fonction d'une cytokine dans une cellule, en particulier une cytokine d'une cellule auxiliaire Th2, et diminuant le nombre des protéines anti-apoptotiques de ladite cellule grâce à la modulation de la cytokine, afin de sensibiliser les cellules pour l'apoptose. Les cellules pouvant être traitées avec les antagonistes de la cytokine sont, en particulier, des cellules cancéreuses résistant aux médicaments et non soumises à l'apoptose.
