ABSTRACT A tray for supporting and serving food items exposed to microwave energy is disclosed which is arranged to carry a plurality of food items in distinct zones in which differing amounts of microwave energy are applied. The tray includes a base having an upper surface of nonconductive material dividing the distinct zones, flanges at the boundaries of the zones for shielding the amount of microwave energy within a zone, a micro- wave energy sensor in a recessed portion of the base and support- ing feet at the periphery of the base for maintaining the base in a horizontal plane during stacking.
