A sensor assembly (22) includes a sensing element (24) electrically connected to a conductor (42) of a flexible multiconductor cable (30) using a conductive patch (26) , which is electrically connected to the conductor (42) . A method of forming a sensor assembly includes electrically connecting an electrically conductive patch (26) to a sensing element (24) and electrically connecting a conductor (42) of a multiconductor cable (30) to the electrically conductive patch (26) .
