In the fast food industry, it is known that drive thrus increase the order taking efficiency for the customer. The invention is called the Sensor Controlled Express Drive Thru (SCEDT). The SCEDT is intended for fast food operations with a drive thru presently or in the future. The SCEDT would improve a company's bottom line; whereby, electricity is conserved based on customer demand. It would also enhance staff productivity by allowing the order taking person to become a floater. The main components of the invention, is two photoelectric motion sensors and relays: 1 input, 1 output, voltage regulated main computer terminal with credit card/debit card access and speaker, voltage regulated internal viewing screen and speaker for staff Basically, the input sensor is triggered by an incoming vehicle relaying the signal to both the computer terminal and internal viewing screen, changing them from energy saving states to full states alerting staff i.e. visually and auditorily, customer proceeds to manually process the order(s). Following a delay period e.g. 10 minutes picked up from the output sensor and relay set off by the last customer, the computer terminal and viewing screen will go into a shutdown mode, until the next vehicle approaches and the process will repeat itself.
