The invention relates to a sensor system for detecting the surface structures of several packaged articles (13), comprising at least one laser distance detector (10; 10'; 10"; 10"') that functions according to the triangulation principle and that has means to determine the distance between the laser distance detector (10; 10'; 10"; 10"') and a surface structure of a packaged article (13), whereby the laser distance detector (10; 10'; 10"; 10"') has at least one analog output (15) via which a distance-proportional analog signal can be emitted. According to the invention, the analog output (15) of at least one laser distance detector (10; 10'; 10"; 10) is in communication with an evaluation unit (40) via an amplifier circuit, whereby the amplifier circuit encompasses at least one operational amplifier (20; 21) that has two inputs (22; 23; 24; 25), and the analog signal of the laser distance detector (10; 10'; 10"; 10"') is present at a first input (22; 24) of the at least one operational amplifier (20; 21), while a variable reference voltage is present at the other input (23; 25) of the at least one operational amplifier (20; 21), said reference voltage being obtained from the analog signal of the analog output (15), and this analog signal is present at the other input (23; 25) of the operational amplifier (20; 21) via a low-pass filter. The output of the at least one operational amplifier (20; 21) is connected to the evaluation unit (40), as a result of which the amplifier circuit is configured in such a way that abrupt changes in the analog signal bring about a change in the output signal of the at least one operational amplifier (20; 21), whereas more gradual changes in the analog signal do not bring about any change in the output signal of the at least one operational amplifier (20; 21). The evaluation unit (40) has means to evaluate the output signal of the at least one operational amplifier (20; 21).
