ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A separable slide fastener is disclosed which is provided with a separable end stop assembly comprising a pin member on one stringer and a socket member on the other stringer, both members being releasably interengage- able to couple the stringers, and retaining means integral with said pin member retaining the latter in locked rela- tion to said socket member during a starting movement of a slider. The invention provides advance in the art whereby the end stop assembly secures a firm engagement between the respective members when fully engaged while allowing a smooth movement of the pin member relative to the socket member in partly disengaged position. The fully engaged position also assists in retaining proper alignment of engaged elements of the associated slide fastener.
