A wash separator (1) comprises a vessel (2) containing a first fluid (3) and a second fluid (4) whereby the second fluid (4) has a differentdensity from the first fluid (3). The first fluid (3) is immiscible with the second fluid (4) and the first and second fluids are separated fromeach other by an interface (5), wherein a feed stream (15, 24, 31, 61) is provided, the feed stream (15, 24, 31, 61) comprising a dispersion of the first and second fluid (3,4), such that the second fluid (4) is forming a dis-persephase in the form of droplets which is distributed within the first fluid (3) forming a continuous phase. A distribution ele-ment (6) is provided in the vessel (2) to distribute the feed stream (15, 24, 31, 61) into the second fluid (4), wherein the feed stream (15, 24, 31, 61) after having discharged from said distribution element (6) has a retention time of at most 15 minutes in the second fluid in the vessel.

La présente invention concerne un séparateur de lavage (1) qui comprend un récipient (2) contenant un premier fluide (3) et un second fluide (4), le second fluide (4) possédant une densité différente de celle du premier fluide (3). Le premier fluide (3) est non miscible avec le second fluide (4) et les premier et second fluides sont séparés l'un de l'autre par une interface (5). Un flux d'alimentation (15, 24, 31, 61) est distribué, ledit flux d'alimentation (15, 24, 31, 61) comprenant une dispersion des premier et second fluides (3,4), de telle sorte que le second fluide (4) forme une phase dispersée sous la forme de gouttelettes qui est distribuée dans le premier fluide (3) formant une phase continue. Un élément de distribution (6) est introduit dans le récipient (2) en vue de distribuer le flux d'alimentation (15, 24, 31, 61) dans le second fluide (4). Ledit flux d'alimentation (15, 24, 31, 61), après avoir été évacué dudit élément de distribution (6), présente une durée de rétention d'au maximum 15 minutes dans le second fluide présent dans le récipient.
