Abstract of the Disclosures A hydrocarbon feed material containing not less than 70% by weight of aromatic hydrocarbons and having a boiling point of 60 to 200°C is dealkylated,the resulting reaction product is subjected to vapor-liquid separation at a high pressure, a light gas is introduced into the separated liquid phase, the resulting mixture is subjected to vapor- liquid separation at a low pressure and then the resulting liquid phase is distilled to obtain pure benzene directly.
