ABSTRACT There is described an improved separator for gaseous liquids containing liquid or solid contaminants. The separator comprises first and second section parts, each of the parts being open and trough shaped in cross section. The first parts are arranged in a first row with the second parts being arranged in a second opposite row. Each of the parts has three longitudinal edges, the edges of the first parts overlapping, partially enclosing and spaced apart from the edges of the second parts. At least some of the first parts have a longitudinal protrusion emanating from the area of the first part not overlapped by the second part. At least some of the second parts have a longitudinal protrusion emanating from the area of the second part not overlapped by the first parts whereby chambers or passages of different sizes are formed in the separator, and the flow rats of the fluids is varied.
