Abstract of the Disclosure A device for separating solid particles from liquid, especially useful in removing particles, such as of amalgam, contained in the rinse water of patients undergoing dental treat- ment. The separating device includes a cylindrical chamber into which the water and solid mixture is fed tangentially, then pass- ing down through a funnel into a disposable collecting vessel in which solids collect while the water passes out to a drain. The collecting vessel is made easily removable for disposal of this vessel and its contents.
