A rotary engine (10) including a static toroidal cavity (15) has an inlet port (46) and an outlet port (44). A first power train (38) and a second power train (36) including a first output shaft (24) and a second output shaft (26), are located partially within the cavity (15) and rotate in the first direction. A pluraltiy of pistons (40), being positioned around a perimeter of the cavity (15) and between the first and second power trains (38, 36), are movable and defines a plurality of chambers. Combustion of a fuel air mixture within a first one of the plurality of chambers causes a fuel gas mixture being introduced into a second one of said plurality of chambers through the intake port (46), combustion material being exhausted from a third one of the plurality of chambers and on first and second drive trains to rotate in the first direction.

Un moteur à piston rotatif (10), comprenant une cavité torique statique (15), est pourvu d'un orifice d'admission (46) et d'un orifice d'échappement (44). Une première transmission (38) et une seconde transmission (36), comprenant un premier arbre de sortie (24) et un second arbre de sortie (26), sont situées partiellement à l'intérieur de cette cavité (15) et tournent dans un premier sens. Une pluralité de pistons (40), positionnés autour d'un périmètre de cette cavité (15) et entre les première et seconde transmissions (38, 36), sont mobiles et définissent une pluralité de chambres. La combustion d'un mélange air-carburant à l'intérieur d'une première de ces chambres entraîne l'introduction d'un mélange de gaz combustible dans une deuxième chambre à travers l'orifice d'admission (46), l'évacuation du produit de combustion d'une troisième chambre et la rotation d'une des deux transmissions dans ledit premier sens.
