SEWER TAPPING APPARATUS Abstract A tap into a sewer main includes a cylinder of elastomeric material having a first end extending through an aperture in the sewer main and a second end extending outwardly away from the side of the sewer main. From within the cylinder, an interior branch pipe having an exterior radius slightly larger than the radius of the aperture minus the cylinder thickness extends into the aperture for compressing the cylinder against the inside edge of the aperture to form a seal. The inside surface of the cylinder is uniform to receive the surface of the sliding interior branch pipe. The branch pipe extends outwardly from the second end of the cylinder, where it may connect to a branch pipe extension.
