ABSTRACT An automatic feeder unit for a twin or triple needle bottom cover switch machine which allows hemmed garments to be chained off while being sewn automatically. The feed unit comprises a top feed conveyor coupled to a synchronizer which senses the speed of the main shaft of the sewing head to control the speed of the top feed conveyor in relation to the speed of the sewing head. Further a feed dog and throat plate assembly comprises an extended land area beyond the chaining finger and having a slot located therebeyond through which a feed dog protrudes during operation, to thereby retain the chain switch during chaining off.
