ABSTRACT A shade cloth stitch pin for joining overlapped portions of tensioned shade cloth, the pin having an elongated body portion with one end being pointed, serrated ridges on one side of the pin adjacent to the pointed end, and a hook shaped member facing the pointed end and positioned toward the opposite end of the pin and being on the same side of the pin as the serrated edges, so that the pin can be threaded through overlapped portions of the shade cloth with the pin being retained by the serrated edges and hook shaped member which prevents rotation of the pin.
