In a shaft coupling comprising a pair of complementally shaped, detachably joinable coupling sleeve halves (11, 12) which can be clamped together by means of clamping elements form a split coupling sleeve provided with at least one seat (14) for a first shaft member (A1) which is to be non-rotatably connected with a second shaft member (A2, A2') so that the first and sec-ond shaft members are aligned. In a retaining device including retaining elements for positively locking the first shaft member (A1) against rota-tional movement relative to the coupling sleeve, the retaining elements in-clude a plurality of elongate force transmitting elements (16D) in the seat (14, 15). These elements extend along a line including an angle with a plane (L) perpendicular to the axis (C3) of the coupling sleeve and are shaped so as to be in interlocking engagement with complemental force transmitting elements (A3D) on the first shaft member (A1). The force transmitting ele-ments in the seat comprise a first group (16A) and a second group (16B) of the force transmitting elements (16D) and the angle in the first group is dif-ferent from that in the second group. Preferably, the retaining elements are formed by internal and external screw-threads on respectively the seat (14) and the shaft member (A1).

Dans un accouplement d'arbre comprenant une paire de demi-manchons d'accouplement complémentaires déconnectables (11, 12) pouvant être serrés l'un sur l'autre au moyen d'éléments de serrage, ces demi-manchons forment un manchon à coquille doté d'au moins un siège (14) pour un premier élément d'arbre (A1) devant être relié de manière non rotative à un second élément d'arbre (A2, A2') de sorte que le premier et le second éléments d'arbre sont alignés l'un par rapport à l'autre. Dans un dispositif de retenue comprenant des éléments de retenue qui assurent le blocage à force, anti-rotation, du premier élément d'arbre (A1) sur le manchon d'accouplement, les éléments de retenue comprennent dans le siège (14, 15) une pluralité d'élément allongés (16D) qui assurent la transmission de force en se verrouillant sur des éléments complémentaires de transmission de force (A3D)au niveau du premier élément d'arbre (A1). Les éléments transmetteurs de force (16D) du siège se répartissent entre un premier groupe (16A) et un second groupe (16B), l'angle du premier groupe étant différent de l'angle du second groupe. Les éléments de retenue sont de préférence formés de taraudages et de filetages, sur le siège (14) et sur l'élément d'arbre (A1) respectivement.
