A preferred embodiment comprises a power hand tool (10) of the type which has a generally cylindrical elongated plastic housing (14) with a motor contained within the housing (14) and having an output shaft (30) that extends from the front end portion (22) of the hand tool (10), and which has a metal front end portion (22) that cooperates with the plastic housing (14) to strengthen a shaft locking mechanism (32) located at the front end of the hand tool (10). The metal front end portion (22) not only strengthens the outer , surface of the housing (14) in the front end portion (22) of the tool, but also has a pair of internal structural ribs (72) positioned to absorb stress that may be present in the housing (14) as a result of force applied to the shaft locking mechanism. The preferred embodiment is also designed to enable the shaft locking pin mechanism (32) to be easily assembled and retained without the need for an E-clip or C-clip as is commonly the practice in commercially available spiral saw hand tools (10).
Cette invention concerne, dans un mode de réalisation préféré, un outil à main électrique (10) comprenant un boîtier (14) en plastique allongé globalement cylindrique ainsi qu'un moteur logé dans le boîtier (14) et comprenant un arbre de sortie (30) qui s'étend depuis la partie d'extrémité avant (22) de l'outil à main (10) et qui comprend une partie d'extrémité avant en métal (22) qui coopère avec le boîtier en plastique (14) afin de renforcer un mécanisme de blocage d'arbre (32) situé au niveau de l'extrémité avant de l'outil à main (10). La partie d'extrémité avant en métal (22) permet non seulement de renforcer la surface extérieure du boîtier (14) dans la partie d'extrémité avant (22) de l'outil mais comprend également une paire de nervures structurelles internes (72) positionnées de façon qu'elles absorbent la contrainte pouvant être présente dans le boîtier (14) à la suite de l'application d'une force sur le mécanisme de blocage d'arbre. Le mode de réalisation préféré de cette invention est également conçu pour permettre au mécanisme à goupille de blocage d'arbre (32) d'être facilement assemblé et bloqué sans l'aide d'une pince en E ou d'une pince en C couramment utilisées dans les outils à main (10) à scie en spirale disponibles dans le commerce.
