There is provided a shaker instrument (1) having a single, contiguous body (10) with a sounding chamber (24) that is in communication with an elongated hollow neck or handle (26). The hollow handle (26) has an opening (28) or aperture through which a fill material (40) may be introduced to, or removed from, the sounding chamber. The fill material is restricted to the sounding chamber by a plug or insert (30) that is placed through the opening and extends into the elongated hollow neck. In addition, there is provided a method of making such a shaker instrument. The method is simplified compared to prior art methods and eliminates any relatively weak and possibly unsafe seams on the instrument.

L'invention concerne un hochet présentant un corps unique continu pourvu d'une chambre de bruitage qui est en communication avec un manche creux ou poignée. La poignée présente une ouverture à travers laquelle un matériau de remplissage peut être introduit dans la chambre de bruitage, ou en être retiré. Le matériau de remplissage est confiné dans la chambre de bruitage au moyen d'un obturateur ou un insert qui est placé à travers l'ouverture et qui s'étend dans le manche creux allongé. En outre, l'invention concerne un procédé permettant de fabriquer un tel hochet.
