The present invention relates to a shape memory polyurethane or polyurethane- urea polymer including a reaction product of: (A) (a) silicon-based macrodiol, silicon-based macrodiamine and/or polyether of the formula (I): A-[(CH2)m-O]n- (CH2)m-A', wherein A and A~ are endcapping groups; m is an integer of 6 or more; and n is an integer of 1 or greater; (b) a diisocyanate; and (c) a chain extender; or (B) (b) a diisocyanate: and (c) a chain extender, said polymer having a glass transition temperature which enables the polymer to be formed into a first shape at a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature and maintained in said first shape when the polymer is cooled to a temperature lower than the glass transition temperature, said polymer then being capable of resuming its original shape on heating to a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature. The present invention also relates to a shape memory composition which includes a blend of two or more of the shape memory polyurethane of polyurethane-urea polymers defined above or at least one shape memory polyurethane or polyurethane-urea polymer defined above in combination with another material. The present invention further relates to processes for preparing, materials having improved mechanical properties, clarity, processability, biostability and/or degradation resistance and devices or articles containing the shape memory polyurethane or polyurethane-urea polymer and/or composition defined above.
La présente invention concerne un polymère de polyuréthanne ou de polyuréthanne-urée contenant un produit de réaction de: (A) (a) macrodiol à base de silicium, macrodiamine à base de silicium et/ou de polyéther de formule (I): A-[(CH¿2?)¿m?-O]¿n?-(CH¿2?)m-A', dans laquelle A et A' sont des groupes de coiffage terminal; m représente un nombre entier égal à 6 ou plus; et n représente un nombre entier égal à 1 ou plus; (b) un diisocyanate; et (c) un allongeur de chaîne; ou (B) (b) un diisocyanate: et (c) un allongeur de chaîne, ledit polymère présentant une température de transition vitreuse qui permet au polymère d'avoir une première forme à une température supérieure à celle de la température de transition vitreuse et d'être maintenu dans ladite première forme lorsque le polymère est refroidi à une température inférieure à celle de la température de transition vitreuse, ce polymère étant capable de retrouver sa forme d'origine lorsqu'il est chauffé à une température supérieure à celle de la température de transition vitreuse. En outre, cette invention concerne une composition à mémoire de forme contenant un mélange de deux au moins des polymères de polyuréthanne ou de polyuréthanne-urée définies ci-dessus en combinaison avec un autre matériau. Par ailleurs, cette invention concerne des procédés de préparation de matériaux présentant des propriétés mécaniques améliorées, ainsi que propriétés améliorées en terme de clarté, d'aptitude au traitement, de biostabilité et/ou de résistance à la dégradation. Elle concerne également des dispositifs ou des articles contenant le polymère de polyuréthanne ou de polyuréthanne-urée à mémoire de forme et/ou une composition définie ci-dessus.
