A cover for a vacuum dewatering box comprises a frame, and a plurality of blocks secured selectively to at least one cross direction (CD) extending support secured to the frame. Each block includes a wear surface and has a perimetric shape including two machine direction (MD) sides at least one MD side being oriented at an angle from the MD. At least some of the blocks are spaced apart to form at least one slot, each slot extending through the cover and being oriented substantially in the CD. The slots may be a plurality of discontinuous slots or at least one continuous non-linear slot; and the slots have a configuration defined by the perimetric shape of the blocks and their location in relation to each other. The invention provides reduced wear on fabrics carried over the box, while maintaining desired drainage properties.
L'invention concerne un couvercle destiné à une boîte de déshydratation de vide qui est constitué d'une pluralité de blocs, chacun comportant une surface d'usure. Au moins quelques blocs sont espacés pour former au moins une fente orientée généralement longitudinalement sur le couvercle, cette fente ayant une forme et une taille d'au moins une fente déterminée au moins par la localisation ou la forme des blocs. De préférence, la ou les fentes ont un motif en zig-zag ou en forme d'arête de poisson (herringbone), et peuvent être utilisées sur une boîte aspirante ou boîte Uhle d'une machine de fabrication de papier. L'invention concerne enfin une boîte de déshydaration de vide de ce type.
