The invention provides a mechanism for allowing a shared memory/parallel processing architecture to be used in place of a conventional uni-processing architecture without requiring code originally written for the conventional system to be rewritten. Exclusive Access and Shared Read Access implementations are provided. A rollback mechanism is provided which allows all the effects of a task to be undone.

L'invention porte sur un mécanisme permettant à une architecture de traitement parallèle à mémoire commune de remplacer une architecture de monotraitement classique sans qu'il soit nécessaire que le code soit écrit au départ pour le système classique. L'implementation d'accès exclusif et d'accès de lecture partagé font aussi l'objet de cette invention. Un mécanisme de reprise permet d'annuler tous les effets d'une tâche.
