The present invention involves a waste management system comprising a composition comprised of: a) at least one water miscible monomer; b)at least one polymerization inhibitor; and c) at least one rust inhibitor. Moreover, the present invention provides a method of disposing of biohazardous and/or potentially biohazardous waste comprising: a) depositing the waste into a waste management system comprised of a container, a composition, and at least one polymerization initiator, wherein the composition is comprised of: i) at least one water miscible monomer, ii) at least one polymerization inhibitor, and iii) at least one rust inhibitor; and b) activating the composition with the at least one polymerization initiator. In a further embodiment, the invention provides a method of disposing of biohazardous and/or potentially biohazardous waste comprising: a) depositing the waste into a container; b) adding to the container a waste management system composition comprised of i) at least one water miscible monomer, ii) at least one polymerization inhibitor, and iii) at least one rust inhibitor; and c) activating the composition with at least one polymerization initiator.
