The invention relates to a shaving apparatus having a shear plate with hair entry apertures and a cutting member which is drivable relative to the shear plate and which is provided with cutting elements. In such a shaving apparatus it may happen that as a result of the forces occurring during hair cutting the shear plate is locally lifted off the cutting member, which has an adverse effect on the operation of the apparatus. In order to avoid this drawback each cutting element of the cutting member is constituted by a filamen- tary cutter provided with a supporting lamella.
