IMPROVEMENTS IN SHAVING APPARTUS ABSTRACT A razor has a handle holding a pair of double edged blades held in a carriage member by means of a spring yoke with cartridge engaging hooks on each arm of the yoke. Dimple bearings or. each side of the blade cartridge hold the yoke hooks in engagement with the cartridge . The yoke bears against a lip of the handle end by a push rod integrally formed with the yoke. The push rod moves the yoke forward in the razor handle by means of a tooth and ratchet means on the handle.. A force push on the rod spreads the hooks. to release the cartridge. Loading of the razor with a blade cartr- idge is is effected by pushing the handle onto a cartridge which will spread the hooks over the dimples and the force push on the rod releases the tooth and ratchet in the handle to allow the hooks to spring into gripping position about the cartridge.
