A B S T R A C T A shaving instrument having a base part of plastics material, at least one razor blade with a cutting edge upon this base part, a cover part fixed to the base part in such a way that the razor blade is firmly clamped be- tween the base part and the cover part, and the cover part has a glide surface which faces the skin to be shaven and away from the base part, and ends at a distance from the cutting edge of the razor blade, a guard bar which comes into contact with the skin and extends at a distance and parallel to the cutting edge of the razor blade, having at its ends legs at an angle that are connected without play to either one of the base part and the cover part.
