This invention provides methods for determining whether a breast, prostate or ovarian tumor or tumor cell is aggressive, based on the quantitative measurement of p66-Shc and phosphorylated Shc. This invention also provides related methods of 'determining the likelihood of tumor recurrence. This invention further provides a method for determining whether a tumor can be successfully treated using a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. Finally, this invention provides antibodies and kits for practicing the instant methods.
L'invention concerne des procédés destinés à déterminer si une tumeur ou des cellules tumorales du sein, de la prostate ou de l'ovaire sont agressives en fonction d'une mesure quantitative de la p66-Shc et de la Shc phosphorylée. L'invention concerne aussi des procédés de détermination de la probabilité d'une récurrence de tumeur. Elle concerne encore un procédé de détermination permettant de savoir si une tumeur peut être traitée avec succès au moyen d'un inhibiteur de tyrosine kinase. Elle concerne enfin des anticorps et des kits de mise en oeuvre des procédés concernés.
