SHEAR OVERLOAD RELEASE COUPLING Abstract of the Disclosure A rotatable driving member drives a rotatable driven member. The means interconnecting the driving member and the driven member includes a frangible member adapted to shear upon the application of a predetermined torque. The driving member is also supported on the driven member by bearings so that after the frangible member shears, the driving member may thereafter rotate freely while the driven member stops rotating to prevent mechanical damage.
