A lock (100) and a method for manufacturing the lock (100). The lock (100) comprises a shell (102) having an interior cavity (104), a plug (108) received in the interior cavity (104) rotatably and axially slidably therein and defining a keyway (114) configured to receive a preselected key (116), and a tumbler (122) insertable in the plug (108). The tumbler (122) has a plug portion disposed at a first axial location within the plug and resiliently biased outwardly toward a locked radial position and associated with the keyway (114) such that said preselected key (116) inserted in the keyway (114) locates the tumbler (122) in an unlock position and a shell portion disposed at a second axial location in the shell (102) wherein the second axial location is axially spaced from the first axial location. The shell (102), the plug (108) and the tumblers (122) are configured such that the tumblers (122) are sheared between the plug (108) and the shell (102) when the plug (108) and the shell (102) are forced axially toward each other.
L'invention concerne un verrou (100) et son procédé de fabrication. Le verrou (100) comprend un boîtier (102) ayant une cavité(104) interne, un barillet (108) reçu dans ladite cavité (104) de manière rotative et par glissement axial et définissant une entrée (114) de clé conçue pour recevoir une clé (116) présélectionnée, et une gorge (122) insérable dans le barillet (108). La gorge (122) a une partie barillet placée dans une première position axiale à l'intérieur du barillet et sollicitée de manière élastique vers l'extérieur en direction d'une position radiale verrouillée et associée à l'entrée (114) de clé de façon que ladite clé (116) présélectionnée, insérée dans l'entrée (114) de clé, positionne la gorge (122) dans une position non verrouillée. Une partie boîtier est placée dans une seconde position axiale dans le boîtier (102), la seconde position axiale étant espacée de manière axiale de la première position axiale. Le boîtier (102), le barillet(108) et les gorges (122) sont conçus de façon que les gorges (122) se cassent entre le barillet (108) et le boîtier (102) lorsque ceux-ci sont forcés axialement l'un vers l'autre.
