A sheet metal bending device has a machine frame, a lower cheek (2), an upper cheek (3) that is adjustable in relation to the lower cheek (2) and a bending cheek (4) that can swivel around a swivelling axis (5) fixed to the machine frame. The distance between bending cheek (4) and swivelling axis is adjustable. An eccentric member (12) adjusts the distance between the bending cheek (4) and its swivelling axis (5) and a retaining member retains the eccentric member (12) in a predetermined angular position. The distance between the bending cheek and its swivelling axis can be adjusted by swivelling the bending cheek (4) whereas the eccentric member (12) is fixed.
