ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The drive motor of a centrifugal blower is coaxially supported within the blower housing using a circumferentially spaced series of four specially designed sheet metal motor mounts. The mounts have generally planar bodies extending radially across an inlet air intake annulus defined between the blower motor housing and a cross-sectionally rounded circular edge portion formed through a blower housing inlet side wall and bordering the blower inlet opening. The plane of each mount body is positioned generally parallel to the motor axis so that mount blockage and disruption of blower inlet air is minimized. Transverse inner end portions of the mounts are rigidly secured to the outer side of the drive motor by sheet metal screws. Elongated transverse outer end portions of the mounts longitudinally extend radially relative to the motor axis and are rigidly secured along their lengths to the outer side of the blower housing inlet side wall, thereby serving to brace it against undesirable flexure. Transverse bending flexure of the mounts is facilitated in one embodiment thereof by relatively large openings formed through the motor ends of their bodies, and depressions formed in the trailing body edges receive portions of the cross-sectionally rounded peripheral side wall edge to provide mounting clearance space therefor and the ability to use the same mount on housings having different inlet diameters.
