- 41 - Abstract of the Disclosure In a sheet sorting apparatus of this invention, two main belts for conveying sheets run one upon another through a predetermined section, and are then separated from each other so that a triangular space is defined between them. The shape of the space is determined by two separating pulleys and two guide pulleys. A separator member rockable in the space has a projected portion projecting between the separating pulleys. When the separator member is rotated, the projected portion engages one of the separating pulleys in the rotating direction to restrain the rotation of the separator member so that the sheets are guided into one of collectors corresponding to the rotating direction.
