ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In sheet-wound transformer coils, excessive ohmic losses due to high current density at the sheet edges caused by a radial magnetic leakage field are avoided by adding ferrite ceramic disks, or disks and strips, adjacent each axial end of the coils, to lead magnetic leakage flux axially out of the sheet metal windings.
