A shelf extender for use on shelves, for example supermarket shelves, is made from a sheet of plastic which has an adhesive strip and/or other attachment means along a back edge thereof for securing extender to the top surface of the shelf with a front portion of the sheet projecting beyond the front edge of the shelf. The front portion of the sheet has fold-down tabs which engage the front edge of the shelf to form cantilever supports or buttresses for the sheet when the sheet is under load. Fold-up strips along the front and sides of the sheet form a surrounding wall for the shelf extender.
L'invention concerne un prolongateur d'étagère (10) s'utilisant pour des rayons (30), notamment pour des rayons de présentoirs de supermarchés. Ce prolongateur se compose d'une feuille de plastique comportant une bande adhésive (14) et/ou d'autres éléments de fixation se trouvant le long d'une de ses arêtes, pour fixer ledit prolongateur sur la surface supérieure du rayon, une section avant de la feuille de plastique faisant saillie au-delà de l'arête avant du rayon. La section avant de la feuille comporte des pattes (28) repliées vers le bas qui s'appliquent sur l'arête avant du rayon, afin de former des supports en porte à faux ou des contreforts pour le rayon lorsqu'il est chargé. Des bandes (20, 22) relevables situées le long de l'avant et des côtés du rayon forment un rebord qui entoure le prolongateur de rayon.
