A bracket for attachment to adjacent sidewalls of a vertical wooden stud and used for supporting one end of an elongate shelf is disclosed. The bracket includes first and second limb sections disposed at right angles to each other and each having an interior face and an exterior face. The interior face of each limb section is planar and respectively adopted to overlie and be attached to one of said adjacent sidewalls. The exterior surface of the first limb section itself includes an elongate channel for receiving and retaining said one end of the shelf. Apertures are provided in both limb sections for facilitating attachment to each of the adjacent sidewalls of the stud.
