ABSTRACT A shield protector device for use with artificial insemination instruments and/or culture collection devices, consisting of an inner tubular portion movable relative to an outer tubular sheath protector portion, includes a cylindrical housing having a closed end, which is sealingly attached to the distal end of the outer tubular sheath protector portion. The closed end of the housing is scored to provide a break away membrane when the closed end of the shield protector is engaged by the inner tubular portion to complete the insemination or culture collection process.
