SHIELDED CABLE CONNECTOR ABSTRACT: A connector for detachably connecting a shielded cable with a plate member such as a printed circuit board with a sufficient mechanical strength, and without disturbing the matched impedance. The connector has a first housing for receiving therein an end portion of the shielded cable, a second housing for retaining therein the first housing and an insulation piercing contact for penetrating an end portion of an insulation cover on a core conductor of the cable in such a manner as to be disposed in contact with a portion of the core conductors. A pressing contact is included for securing an end portion of a shield of the cable, and for securing an end portion of a jacket of the cable. A pair of conductive fittings is included for mounting on conductive patterns provided on the plate member. Each of the fittings has a first retainer portion for retaining the second housing, and a second retainer portion for holding either the insulation piercing contact or the pressing contact in place while contacting a body of such contacts.
