Abstract A multipole plug connector (1) having connecting elements (10) on the rear side for incoming leads is completely surrounded by a shielding plate (3), with the exception of its insertion side. The shielding plate (3) is composed of material which is in the form of a strip and is bent around the plug connector, and whose ends overlap such that they make contact. In consequence, a particularly good shielding effect is achieved.
