A shin boot for protection of the knuckles, the calf and the tendons of horses, and in particular trotting horses, against impact damages and other damages, where the shin boot is made as a laminate of pore plastics, where the inner layer of the laminate is soft and has a low density, while the outer layer is hard and has a high density, and where the pore plastics material in both layers of the laminate consist of expanded polyethylene or polypropylene, with closed pores, being melted and pressed together in the mutually facing surfaces, to a united entity in the same operation as used for forming the shin boot, and that the outer, harder layer is substantially thinner than the inner, softer layer. The length and width and contour of the shin boot can, moreover, easily be adapted to the individual horse by means of a knife or similar without destroying the properties of the shin boot with respect to for instance hydrophobia.
L'invention concerne des guêtres pour la protection des articulations tarso-métatarsiennes, des canons et des tendons de chevaux, et plus particulièrement, de chevaux pendant leur course au trot, contre les blessures par chocs et autres blessures. Ces guêtres sont fabriquées sous forme de feuilles de plastique poreux. La couche intérieure de la couche est douce et rpésente une faible densité, tandis que la couche extérieure est dure et présente une densité élevée. Le matériau plastique poreux dans les deux couches de la feuille se compose de polyéthylène ou polypropylène expansé, avec des pores fermés, fondus et comprimés ensemble dans les surfaces situées mutuellement en regard pour former une seule entité dans la même opération que celle utilisée pour former la guêtre. La couche extérieure, plus dure est sensiblement plus mince que la couche intérieure plus douce. La longueur, la largeur et le contour de la guêtre peuvent être aisément adaptés à un cheval donné au moyen d'une lame ou similaire sans détruire les propriétés de la guêtre en ce qui concerne, par exemple, l'hydrophobie.
