A B S T R A C T The SHINNY PUCK is a weighted soft polymer safety puck closely paralleling officially approved N.H.L. pucks in terms of appearance, size, weight, and 'on ice' performance, designed specifically for unorganized amateur hockey situations where full protective equipment is not used or available. It can either consist of two parts; an outer soft polymer conventional puck shaped disc jacketing a centrally suspended core made of high density material to give weight to the puck or the entire puck can be of a homogenous composition consisting of a rubber base coupled with a heavy filler powder uniformly dispersed throughout the entire puck volume.
