A computer processing system for a shipment transaction involving a shipper and a carrier. The system is particularly suited to efficiently automate the payment of a shipment transaction and to efficiently provide access to relevant shipment information. The system includes a shipper processor which receives purchase order information and assists in generating a bill of lading for the transaction. A shipper access terminal interfaces between the shipper processor and a central processor arrangement to control the quantity, quality, and timeliness of information transferred to the central processor arrangement. The central processor arrangement stores selective shipment information and generates reports regarding the transactions. A carrier processor provides proof of delivery to the central processor arrangement. The central processor communicates with one or more financial institutions so that the carrier is paid and shipper billed for the relevant transaction.
L'invention concerne un système de traitement informatique pour une transaction d'expédition mettant en jeu un expéditeur et un transporteur. Ce système convient particulièrement pour automatiser efficacement le règlement d'une transaction d'expédition et pour assurer efficacement l'accès aux informations d'expédition pertinentes. Le système comprend un processeur expéditeur qui reçoit les informations relatives à la commande d'achat et facilite la production d'un connaissement pour la transaction. Un terminal d'accès expéditeur assure l'interface entre le processeur expéditeur et une configuration de processeur central pour contrôler la quantité, la qualité, et la présentation en temps opportun des informations transférées à la configuration de processeur central. Cette dernière mémorise des informations d'expédition sélectives et produit des états concernant les transactions. Un processeur transporteur fournit la preuve de livraison à la configuration de processeur central. Le processeur central entre en contact avec une ou plusieurs institutions financières afin que le transporteur soit payé et l'expéditeur facturé pour la transaction concernée.
