A shippable box spring assembly is provided which is constructed of structural lumber materials which can be fit within a standard sized shipping container. The shippable box spring can be easily assembled on site by the consumer and thus, the expense of shipping a larger pre-assembled box spring structure is avoided. Further, the smaller size of the shipping container allows the box spring assembly to be more easily handled, while allowing more box sprints to be shipped in a given space.
