Disclosed is an improved shipping container and method. The container has a body having a quadrilateral cross-section, a container bottom and container top. The body can be urged into a collapsed position. The container bottom has a first panel secured across the first and the second adjacent side and a second complementary panel secured across the third and fourth adjacent sides. The container bottom with first and second panels is extendable across the quadrilateral body. Each of panels is retractably biased along a respective junction of the body. The first panel has a bottom flap that substantially corresponds to the body for engaging the body in a non-collapsed position, thereby forming a generally contiguous transport surface that is selectively retractable into the body upon disengaging the flap from the body and urging the body into the collapsed position. The container top is spaced apart from and opposes the container bottom. The container top has at least a first top flap with a profile sufficient to substantially enclose the body cross-section when in the non-collapsed position. The first top flap extends from the first side and is selectively positionable over the body when the body is in the non-collapsed position.

La partie supérieure du conteneur est espacée de la partie inférieure et y est opposée. Elle comprend au moins un premier rabat supérieur avec un contour suffisant pour essentiellement entourer la coupe du corps lorsque ce dernier n'est pas replié. Le premier rabat supérieur se prolonge à partir du premier côté et peut se placer sélectivement sur le corps lorsque ce dernier est dans la position non repliée.
