A mount for damping shock or vibration between a first and a second mass. The mount comprising a substantially straight cable of a plurality of multiwire strands having a first and second end. The cable comprises an axial cavity in free state and at least one portion having a bulged middle part forming a central cavity, this portion being formed with the permanent deformation of the strands. The mount also comprises a fixing means, located in an axial extension of the portion of the cable, to which ends of the cable are fixed and which are suitable for being fastened to the masses.
