The coating intended to dampen the shocks produced by a collision or by impacts produced by a shock wave, comprises at least one crushing material layer (2) intended to cover a surface to be protected, the external layer of the crushing material (2) being, according to the present invention, coated with a skin (4) capable of providing a widening of the area affected by the shock or impact. The skin (4) has particularly a plurality of layers (51; 52; 53) of scales (61; 62; 63), the scales of one layer being offset in quincunx with respect to the scales of the next layer and being separated from the neighbouring scales of the same layer or susceptible of separating from the latter upon the application of a shock or receiving the impact. The structure of such damper coating is configured to dampen the impact under a reduced thickness.
Ce revêtement amortisseur de chocs produits par une collision, ou d'impacts produits par une onde de choc, comporte au moins une couche d'un matériau d'écrasement (2) destinée à recouvrir une surface à protéger, la couche extérieure du matériau d'écrasement (2) étant, conformément à la présente invention, recouverte par une peau (4) capable d'assurer un élargissement de la zone affectée par le choc ou l'impact. La peau (4) comporte notamment plusieurs couches (51; 52; 53) d'écailles (61; 62; 63), les écailles d'une couche étant décalées en quinconce par rapport aux écailles de la couche suivante et étant séparées des écailles voisines de la même couche ou susceptibles de se séparer de celles-ci lors de l'application du choc ou de l'impact. La structure de ce revêtement amortisseur est conçue pour amortir l'impact sous une épaisseur réduite.
