Abstract: When a person that is riding a skateboard wants to execute a jump with it, he/she must go through certain very specific body motions. Those motions generate a lot of friction between the outer edge of the shoe of the skateboarder and the board surface. Due to the abrasive nature of the surface of the skateboards, and because of the above mentioned friction, in a very short time an experienced skateboarder will develop a hole on the side of his shoe. The devise subject of this patent application is detachable strap, specifically designed for skateboarding, that has two purposes. The first purpose of the devise is to prevent holes in the outer sides of the shoes when jumping with the board; this goal is achieved by means of a protective surface attached to the strap. The second purpose of the devise is to provide the friction point between foot and board, with added friction (as compared to the use of unprotected shoes). This added friction helps control the skateboard more efficiently and thus makes it easier to perform higher jumps; this goal is achieved by means of an adhesive rubber sticker attached to the protective surface.
