The current flowing in an output field effect transistor is sensed by a paralle[circuit arrangement which derives a sensed current representing the current flowing in the output transistor. The parallel circuit arrangement comprises series-connected CMOS transistors which are connected together in order to derive a current output which is representative of the load current through the output transistor. In a short circuit protected output buffer, the sensed current is compared with a reference current and if it exceeds the reference current the amplitude of the drive signal to the output transistor is reduced.
Un circuit en parallèle détecte le courant circulant dans un transistor à effet de champ de sortie et produit un courant détecté représentant le courant circulant dans le transistor de sortie. Le circuit en parallèle comprend des transistors CMOS interconnectés en série afin de produire en sortie un courant représentant le courant de charge traversant le transistor de sortie. Dans un circuit tampon de sortie à protection de court-circuit, le courant détecté est comparé à un courant de référence et, s'il dépasse ce courant de référence, l'amplitude du signal d'attaque transmis au transistor de sortie est réduite.
