ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The shower arm has a nozzle head (10) with discharge openings (10b), a cylindrical shower arm tube (9), as well as a reversing valve. During the longitudinal movements of the shower arm (3), the reversing valve (22) connects a hose (13) connected to the outlet of a heating device to a rinsing water channel (10d) or a shower water channel (10g). When the shower arm (3) is being extended, rinsing water is sent through the rinsing water channel (10d) over the outer surface (10i) of the rinsing head (10), as a result of which the nozzle head (10) is cleaned. Shortly before the shower arm (3) reaches its fully extended position, the rinsing stream is interrupted, and shower water is admitted into the nozzle head (10) through the shower water channel (10g), likewise via the hose (13). During the retraction of the shower arm (3), the flow is interrupted, and the nozzle head (10) is subsequently cleaned with rinsing water until the resting position is reached. B:21726.1
