The invention provides a shrinkable thermoplastic film for packaging purposes, more particularly for bundling unit packs of individual objects to be packaged such as tinned food, cans, bottles or the like, and a method for producing it; the film is formed of at least two thermoplastic resins and tears in a direction substantially perpendicular to its direction of extrusion, along a substantially straight line.
