ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A regulator (Figure 3) is disclosed adapted for shunt operation comprising means (L) for regulating a supply voltage or current by diverting excess electrical energy without utilizing a voltage drop resistive means. This regulator is suitable for implementation in VLSI chips due to the fact that a voltage drop resistive means is not used.
